Roi Quián was trained in the art of traditional instrument making at the ‘School of Arts and Trades’ in Vigo, Galicia (1999 - 2004) by Antón Corral, the renowned master craftsman.  Over recent years the world of traditional music has evolved greatly and in order to meet the demands of today´s musicians I have made various changes and improvements to my instruments regarding their construction, tuning capacity and sound quality.  Thanks to years of research and development I am now proud to offer a wide range of bagpipes and flutes in different keys.  Without doubt my greatest accomplishment has been in my flutes, working to keep their tuning as perfect as possible between octaves and attaining a deeper, richer sound with more volume. Through the years I have also developed a series of semi-tone keys which are made from hardened silver and mounted on wooden blocks made from the same wood as the actual instrument.  All flutes have barrels on their head-joints, (a tube or piston) which enables them to be perfectly tuned regardless of who is playing them or of changing environmental conditions.
